On Wednesday, November 20th, the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation’s Author Events Series hosts former President Bill Clinton, in a public conversation moderated by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jonathan Capehart.
PHILADELPHIA, November 14, 2024 – On Wednesday evening, November 20th, Jonathan Capehart, Pulitzer-prize winning journalist and MSNBC host, will moderate a conversation with former President Clinton on his extraordinary life, the presidential election, current and emerging global challenges and his newest memoir, Citizen: My Life After The White House. Covering Clinton’s life since leaving public office in 2001, Citizen is set for release on November 19th and includes personal perspectives on his wife’s presidential campaign, his work with former President George W. Bush, the January 6th insurrection, the Middle East, and much more.
“It speaks to the stature and reputation of the Foundation’s Author Events Series that President Clinton is coming to the Free Library as part of his brief book tour,” said Daniel Blank, managing director of public programs at the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation and leader of the Author Events Series. “Our team worked hard to make it happen, and we look forward to building on this success in our spring season and beyond.”
The event will begin at 7:00 pm in the Montgomery Auditorium of the Parkway Central Library on Vine Street, Philadelphia. An overflow room with a live feed from the Auditorium is also planned, so more people can take advantage of this unique opportunity to hear Clinton speak about the challenges and achievements of his post-presidency life, as well as the current state of our world.
“Citizen is the story of my 23-plus years since leaving the White House, told largely through the stories of other people who changed my life as I tried to help change theirs, of those who supported me, including those I loved and lost, and of the mistakes I made along the way,” Clinton said in a recent statement.
With Capehart as moderator, the former President will take us inside his highly anticipated memoir, Citizen: My Life After The White House, in which he offers a firsthand perspective on some of the most crucial events of the 21st century so far, his perception of the world today, and what comes next.
This is a ticketed event. Details and registration options are at: https://freelibraryfoundation.org/
